Martial Arts Gloves
Many martial arts require the fighter to wear gloves, which range in weight, for example in Boxing the boxing gloves range from 8-16oz in amateur bouts and 6-12oz in professional bouts. Different weights and types of gloves are used by different types of fighters.
Gloves are subject to inspection both by the representatives of the sanctioning body and the opposing fighter's corner prior to a fight.
Martial arts gloves are then taped to prevent them from coming loose, and are usually signed by the representative of the sanctioning body to assure no tampering has taken place.
