Dumbells and barbells are a piece of equipment used in weight training, to workout the upper body such as the arms, shoulders and back. They are used either individually or in pairs (one for each hand). There are several types of dumbells including chrome dumbells, rubber dumbells and aerobic dumbells.
Some strength brands such as Marcy and Golds' Gym have created adjustable dumbells which are a full set of dumbells in just one pair. Adjustable dumbells use a slider or dial system which allows you to select the desired weight that you want to use in your strength training.
