Description

Martial Arts Mats

Martial arts mats are designed to have a highly absorbent and a smooth finish, this provides an excellent fall and impact protection for any form of martial arts such as judo, karate and boxercise. Martial arts mats are made to withstand the toughest punishment.

Karate mats are usually the most shock absorbent and durable with enough traction to perform on. Due to their shock absorbent structure Karate mats are able to provide support and cushioning to the body and joints when throws and various other karate manoeuvres are used.

Judo mats are usually jigsaw mats with a Tatami texture. 20mm Jigsaw mats are suitable for a wide variety of fitness activities. If you are looking to use a Jigsaw mat for Judo then we recommend the thicker 40mm Jigsaw mats, as they are more suited to martial art moves such as standing throws and breakfalling. Judo mats are thick enough to provide support and cushioning for throws and various other judo manoeuvres. Due to the structure of judo mats they can reduce the risk of injury and enable fluid, even movement on the mat.

Jujitsu mats are engineered to be, firm, smooth and springy in order to accommodate the fast paced movements and manoeuvres which are used within the martial art. Tae Kwon Do mats have slightly more support, allowing the martial artist to remain in balance, agile and stable on the mat.
