Chances are you will quickly outgrow a cheap weights bench as your weightlifting poundages increase and you yourself get physically bigger.
If you are buying your first weights bench together with a weight kit, spend more on your weights bench than on your weight kit. You can easily add weights to your kit you can't easily add strength and size to a lightweight flimsy bench. Also, a sturdy well designed weights bench will give you the confidence to concentrate on safe, productive weight training. This alone is a good enough reason to invest in the best weights bench you can afford.
