Weight Machines, as found in Fitness Health Clubs and BodyBuilding Gyms, have greatly evolved and become extremely popular over the last couple of decades.

A Weight Machine offers two important benefits for the trainer. It allows an exercise such as a Shoulder Press to be performed in safety as the weight stack is located away from the user, removing concerns about injury from being trapped under a weight or from dropping a weight which has become too heavy.

Additionally, a Weight Machine can allow the trainer to focus more attention on specific muscles, targeting muscle groups with greater intensity by training them to failure without the need of someone assisting.

There are basically two types of Weight Machines, those which have selectorised weight stacks attached to them and those which require Weight Plates to be loaded on to them.
